Dialling In Your Morning Brew

A practical way to adjust grind, dose, and time without making your morning coffee complicated.

A morning coffee setup with a grinder, notebook, mug, scale, and coffee beans.

Dialling in does not need to feel technical. The goal is simply to notice what changed, make one clear adjustment, and move closer to the cup you want.

Choose a baseline

Pick one recipe and repeat it for a few brews before changing anything. Consistency gives you a reference point and makes each adjustment more useful.

Write down the coffee dose, water weight, grind setting, brew time, and what you tasted.

Read the cup

A sour or hollow cup usually points toward under-extraction. A harsh or drying cup usually points toward over-extraction.

The fix is rarely dramatic. Move the grind slightly, adjust your pour, or change brew time in small steps.

Keep mornings simple

Once the coffee tastes balanced, stop adjusting and enjoy it. You can always experiment later when you have more time.

A repeatable morning brew is built through small, calm decisions, not constant reinvention.
